All the folks lucky enough to have been on the Avie’s Ski and Ride trip to Killington this past Wednesday had the best of times. Sore muscles after a day of fantastic skiing and riding were the norm. It snowed much of the day while they were on the slopes. And then it snowed even more after the bus pointed south.
Don’t miss your chance at Okemo. This Sunday, the 19th of February.
Conditions up north are just incredible. Between 2 and 3 feet of snow have fallen in the hills of Vermont over the past week-and-a-half. Don’t miss out on a chance to dig your edges into some wonderful packed-powder this weekend.
Wax those skis and boards. Get to Avie’s Ski / Sport and sign up for the trip to Okemo this Sunday. Get some of that tasty snow while the getting is good.
And it’s really, really good.
The best way to bust up those winter blues is to simply never get them. How pray tell you ask, do you do that?
You go skiing or riding. And you do it often. And… …more
Thirty-nine smart riders and skiers took the Avie’s Ski Bus north yesterday to Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vermont. Temperatures hovered in the mid-20s at the summit and low 30s at the base, with a mix of sun and clouds. A brief but intense snow flurry for about a half hour graced the day just to add a special touch. …more
Yes, the Avie’s Ski Bus is indeed magical. You get on the bus, chill, and end up at a New England ski mountain refreshed and ready to slay the slopes. If that isn’t magic I don’t know what is.
And the magic happens again this Sunday, the 29th of January. Get on the bus, close your eyes, and when they open you will have been whisked to Okemo ski area for a day of fun on the slopes. The trip is filling quickly, so if you want to experience the magic, sign on soon. Don’t let the Avie’s magic bus leave you in a cloud of pixie dust in snowless Rhode Island or Connecticut!
And now for some good news. And a little bad news.
The bad news is that the trip to Mount Snow on the 5th of February has been cancelled. It’s Super Bowl Sunday.
The good news is that the New England Patriots will be walking into yet another Super Bowl on that very day, and we know you don’t want to miss a second of game time.
So on that day the Avie’s magic bus will be pulling for the home team instead of pulling skiers and riders to the slopes. But this weekend the bus goes north into snow-country. Be sure to sign up for this weekend’s trip to Okemo and experience a bit of magic.
The New Year is officially begun, and we at Avie’s Ski / Sport are asking you to consider adding one more resolution to the weighty list you no doubt have already concocted — SKI MORE! RIDE MORE! SKI MORE! RIDE MORE! SKI MORE! RIDE MORE! SKI MORE! RIDE MORE!
Okay, that’ more than one, but you get the point. Read on to resolve the issue. …more
Sunday March 20th—the solstice announcing the first day of Spring—marked the final ski and ride bus trip for Avie’s Ski / Sport for the 2016 season. 29 skiers and riders headed north with Ted, me, and other shop staff for a day of playing in the snow at Okemo. …more
A group of skiers and riders from Avie’s Ski / Sport made their way to Mount Snow on Super Bowl Sunday. It was indeed a Super Sunday on the slopes.
Cloud free skies, temperatures moving into the mid to upper 30s, and a zephyr of a breeze made for incredible conditions. Fast and firm in the morning, soft in the afternoon and even a bit buttery on the south facing trails late in the day. It was beyond picture perfect. …more
Unfortunately plans were altered and instead of 3-days and 3-mountains as I noted in my last post, I got no days and no mountains. That’s a pretty big negative to chew on. But there is a positive side. …more
